Mono hull Atlantic 55 (17m)Max capacity: 28paxActivities: Safari Snorkeling (guided snorkelingtour), cave tour with smaller boat.Departure: 10:30Return: 19:00
“Mama Mari” will depart from Adamas, heading west. A few minutes later she will pass by the village of Klima, the most traditional fishing village in the Cyclades, featured in the trailer of the Olympic Games Athens 2004. Next, the sleepless “Arkoudes” (rock formations protruding from the water that resemble bears) will catch our attention, guarding the entrance of the port. She will cruise across the port entrance heading south, and pass by Cape Vani, an extraordinary rock formation! Protruding rocks lay on the cape next to the old manganese mines, operated between 1890 and 1920. Remains of the old loading bays are still visible.
Now the boat will head south making one stop for a refreshing swim at one of the beaches of the west, (Kalogires or Agkathia) depending on the weather conditions and presence of other private yachts at each beach. The entrance of the famous Sykia sea cave will appear at the very south west corner of the island. The boat will stop at Sykia cave and passengers will have a chance to visit the inside of the cave and swim there. Next stop is Kleftiko. A unique volcanic landscape, a landmark of Milos. Kleftiko had been a pirate hideout for about a thousand years. The water is crystal clear and there’s a complex of many caves and underwater passages stretching to three different bays.
There the passengers will go on a snorkeling safari. The captain wears his mask as well and dives with everyone, providing a unique guided snorkeling tour around Kleftiko’s caves and underwater passages. Available for the group is a go-pro underwater camera so they can capture their own pictures and videos, (which are available for downloading the same evening after their return).
Once the swimming is done and before lunch the captain will make a cave tour with the yacht’s rib boat, since Kleftiko has so many caves which is impossible to see them by swimming around. Between the swimming and activities the lunch is also served on board (salad, main, drinks, wine, soft drinks available).
Coffee, drinks, and cookies will be available throughout the trip, free of charge. The boat will return the same way. On the way back there will be another stop for swimming, at the beach of Ag. Dimitris at the bay of Adamas. The schedule can be altered based on current weather conditions and/or the boat traffic at the visiting locations. Under no circumstances will Kleftiko be omitted from the program.
